The State Treasurer is responsible for the payment of all fully executed warrants (Ala. Code, 36-17-3 [1975]). This series consists of the cancelled warrants returned to the treasurer by the banks after payment has been made. The Warrant Division microfilms the warrants immediately and stores both the originals and microfilm for two years, at the end of which time, they dispose of the original.
